The name "Asahi" comes from: Asa means "morning" and Hi means "light" or "sun" (The Rising Sun). Two primary logos: The Oval Logo (1948–1955): The word "ASAHI" written inside an oval, which in turn was placed inside the stylized outline of a large letter "A".The Santa Claus Logo (1955 onward): A lithographed image of Santa Claus carrying a toy sack, withe the letters "ATC" (Asahi Toy Company) printed inside the sack.
